(Jan. 4, 2017 - Toronto) Toronto health lawyer Tracey Tremayne-Lloyd, founder and principal of TTL Health Law, has joined The Expert Network©, an invitation-only service for professionals, including lawyers. Tremayne-Lloyd has been selected based on peer reviews and ratings, and dozens of recognitions and accomplishments achieved throughout her career.
Tremayne-Lloyd earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario where she was on the Dean’s List of Honour Students. She is also a certified specialist in health law by the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC.)
With more than 30 years dedicated to law, Tremayne-Lloyd brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry, and in particular to her area of specialization, health law. When asked why she decided to pursue this specialization, Tremayne-Lloyd says: “I saw that the landscape for health-care providers was rapidly changing in the decade or so before I was called to the bar but there wasn’t any specialty in health-care law. My concern was that it was so important to the public but there wasn't a depth of legal knowledge in the area.”
In 1987, Tremayne-Lloyd founded the health-care section of the Canadian Bar Association and became its first national Health Law Chair. After becoming a Certified Specialist in Health Law, she began writing, lecturing, and practising this emerging area of the law, dealing with novel regulatory and policy issues that had not yet been addressed in a comprehensive way.
In her practice today, she focuses on representing medical professionals in the myriad issues they may face in today’s legal climate. She is widely recognized for her expertise in advocating for clients in both Ontario and the United States and has experience arguing before the Superior, Divisional, and Appellate courts of Ontario. Throughout her career, Tremayne-Lloyd has successfully shepherded numerous clients through the travails of navigating top administrative boards and tribunals.
Tremayne-Lloyd continues to write, speak and teach on a broad range of topics in health law. She recently spoke with audiences of prominent medical professionals at such events as the Bayer Medical-Legal Dinner and the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine’s 13th annual conference. She has also written about important health law topics including private health care in Ontario and recent regulatory changes.
