Cohen to discuss reproductive, fertility law at LSO event
Toronto fertility lawyer Sara Cohen will speak about reproductive and fertility law at an upcoming Law Society of Ontario (LSO) event in Toronto.
Cohen, founder of Fertility Law Canada at D2Law LLP, is also co-chair of the event, which will take place on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Donald Lamont Learning Centre, 130 Queen Street W.
Cohen will present on the following topics:
- The Continued Debate on Criminalization: Arguments for and against Compensated Surrogacy and Gamete Donation in Canada.
- Statutory Framework and Key Concepts
- Challenges and Conflicts: When Things Go Wrong
Other presenters will discuss Ontario's All Families Are Equal Act; how to draft reproductive agreements; issues involved in commercialization of surrogacy and gamete donation; legislative compliance requirements and penalties for non-compliance; and how to advise hospitals and clinics on reproductive law matters.
