Toronto Lawyers Association – AdvocatePlus
Toronto Lawyers Association

The Toronto Lawyers Association (TLA) has had the same mandate for more than 130 years — to provide knowledge, advocacy, and community to lawyers in the City of Toronto.

Founded in 1885, the TLA offers a variety of learning opportunities through continuing professional development and skills training on topics such as legal trends and legislative and court decisions.

It offers support for the dual role of lawyer and business owner by providing educational sessions and guidance on practice and firm management, as well as a state-of-the-art legal library that contains printed and electronic sources of legal information.

The TLA acts as an advocate for its members before all levels of government, the Ontario Bar, the court system, and the public at large. It also participates in charitable events, communicates with other professional lawyers' associations, provides educational mock trials at area public schools, and sits on committees related to legal and courthouse issues.

In addition, the TLA provides members with opportunities to get involved in their legal, local, and social communities.
