Kobi Bessin, a partner with the Toronto firm Torkin Manes LLP, focuses on business and corporate/commercial law.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Huron University in 2002 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2006.
Mr. Bessin went on to earn his Master of Laws in tax law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011. He was called to the New York Bar in 2008, the Ontario Bar in 2009, and the Washington D.C. Bar in 2010.
Handling corporate and commercial matters, Mr. Bessin has a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. He assists clients with acquisitions and sales of businesses, as well as other corporate and commercial transactions in a range of industries including the pharmaceutical and health-care sectors.
During his legal studies, Mr. Bessin was a law clerk for Chief Judge Bernard A. Friedman in the United States District Courthouse in the Eastern District of Michigan.
He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association.
