GTD Scientific is a Vancouver-based forensic investigation firm that analyzes information for litigators and product developers.

Founded in 2009, GTD Scientific provides forensic investigation services, including injury biomechanics, incident reconstruction, and product safety, as well as reports and testimony in court.

In addition, GTD Scientific offers research and training, including evaluating existing products, assisting clients in new product development, and continuing professional development training. Its significant international client list includes safety product companies, legal professionals, police officers, social workers, engineers, and health professionals.

Its forensic investigation services specialize in injury biomechanics, incident reconstruction, as well as what it calls The Science of Violence, which encompasses a specialized understanding of violent encounters.

Founder and principal, Geoffrey Desmoulin, graduated from the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering with a PhD in mechanical engineering. He earned a Master of Science in biomechanical engineering from Wayne State University as well as both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in kinesiology from Simon Fraser University.

Mr. Desmoulin, a former firefighter and paramedic, also trained as an emergency medical technician and a systems technician at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

He has been deemed an expert witness by the Supreme Court of British Columbia and federal courts in the U.S.
