Brahm Siegel, a senior partner with the Toronto family law and divorce boutique Nathens, Siegel Barristers LLP, is a certified family law specialist and dispute resolution officer as well as a certified mediator and arbitrator in family law matters.
He received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from McGill University in 1990 before earning his Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University in 1993. Mr. Siegel was called to the Ontario Bar in 1995.
Mr. Siegel was certified as a family law specialist by the Law Society of Ontario in 2008, and certified as a dispute resolution officer by the Superior Court of Justice.
In addition, he was certified as a family mediator by the Ontario Association of Family Mediators and certified as an arbitrator by the Family Dispute Resolution Institute. Mr. Siegel was a dispute resolution officer in the Superior Court of Justice for five years.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Siegel created the Nathens, Siegel Scholarship, awarded to the student with the highest mark in the family clinic course at Queen’s University.
He speaks at conferences and seminars for such organizations as the Law Society of Ontario, The Advocates’ Society, and the Ontario Association of Family Mediators.
Mr. Siegel has been published in Canadian Family Law Quarterly and Money and Family Law and wrote the chapters on divorce, procedure, and alternative dispute resolution for the Law Society of Ontario’s licensing process.
He also co-authored McLeod’s Ontario Family Law Rules and is the consulting editor of the Consolidated Ontario Family Law Statutes and Regulations.
Mr. Siegel is a member of the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario, the Association of Family Conciliation Courts, the Ontario Association of Family Mediators, the Collaborative Family Law Association, and the International Network of Boutique Law Firms.
