Orlando to chair webinar on SABS changes
Toronto critical injury lawyer Dale Orlando will chair an upcoming practical strategies webinar, aimed at helping participants understand and plan for imminent changes to the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS).
On May 10 from 9 – 10:30 a.m., ‘The Dawn of a New Day: Understanding the ‘Catastrophic’ Impact of the coming SABS Changes’ webinar will explore changes to accident benefits set to come into effect on June 1 that will substantially reduce available funding for accident victims and will cause lengthy “catastrophic impairment” designation delays.
Orlando, a partner with McLeish Orlando LLP, will host the event, where panelists will provide a review of the major reductions to statutory accident benefits and the applicable transitional rules, discuss the new License Appeal Tribunal (replacing FSCO as of April 1) and the elimination of the right to sue in court for accident benefits disputes. Speakers will also provide a review of the narrower definition of “catastrophic impairment” and solutions to helping accident victims in keeping with these changes.
The last 30 minutes will be dedicated to answering questions via a live Q&A session. Participants can submit questions in advance by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The event is free to attend.
