Toronto police release video of suspect wanted in connection to fatal shooting

Toronto police say the vehicle used in the fatal shooting that happened in the north end over the weekend is registered to car renting company.

In a news conference today, Det. Sgt. Mike Carbone released surveillance footage of the night when Karim Hirani, 25, was shot to death in a parking lot in Toronto's North York area Sunday just before 3:20 a.m.

The footage shows a dark Nissan Maxima arrive in a parking lot where Hirani was drinking with two of his friends.

A man gets out of the car, walks to the three men and shoots the victim before running back to his vehicle.

Carbone says police do not have the identity of the suspect because he used a ``non-traditional'' car rental company that only accepts cash and does not require drivers' identification.

Police say it is still too early in the investigation to determine what could have lead the suspect to shoot Hirani.
