Quebec boy dead, brother hospitalized after falling into inground pool
MONTREAL — A five-year-old boy is dead after falling into an inground pool in a Montreal backyard.
The young victim fell into the pool while playing with a group of children at a home in the city's Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough on Monday afternoon.
The boy died a few hours later in hospital while his 10-year-old brother, who also fell in the pool while trying to rescue him, was still in hospital on Tuesday.
Authorities say the older boy's condition is now considered stable.
Montreal police say they received a 911 call for a child in cardiorespiratory arrest early Monday evening.
Police say the child was playing in a friend's yard when he fell and adults found the two children in the water and attempted to revive the young victim.
