Expansion gives Veritext national court-reporting presence

Litigants across the country are a step closer to a one-stop shop for court-reporting needs as Veritext Legal Solutions, through its Canadian arm, VT Canada Litigation Solutions, Inc., expands into western Canada, says Neesons Court Reporting founder and president Kim Neeson.

Veritext, the largest court-reporting firm in the world, chose Neesons as its first Canadian partner and has now added two more firms to its stable in this country — Edmonton-based A.C.E. Reporting and Royal Reporting, which has offices in Regina and Saskatoon, with a new one planned for Winnipeg.

“The plan was always to get a foothold in Toronto with us, and then to build a truly national presence in Canada,” says Neeson, whose firm remains the flagship agency for Veritext’s operations in this country. “With these acquisitions, we’re one step closer to that goal.

“Our clients are litigating in many different places, so it will be great for them to be able to get consistent, quality service and leverage the same systems, wherever they are in the country,” she tells

In addition to its 70 bricks-and-mortar locations across the U.S., all equipped with state-of-the-art deposition suites, Veritext gained a reputation in the field for innovation since entering the litigation support industry in 1997.

“We’re excited to become a part of a well-respected court-reporting company that continually innovates to bring best practices to our industry,” says Lucille Derkach of Royal and A.C.E. Reporting.

“Having founded Royal in 1985, and having expanded our business through acquisitions over the years, it’s a dream come true to become part of an international brand,” she says.

A.C.E. Reporting was acquired by Royal Reporting in 2015, following its establishment 15 years earlier in Edmonton.

“It’s a great time to provide clients with a one-stop shop,” adds Chad Heibein, controller and owner of the two firms.

“With the opening of our new office in Winnipeg just days away, and now adding Toronto to our network, our clients will be able to travel to multiple locations in Canada and experience the same top quality and service they’ve come to expect.”

The new additions to the Veritext team provide the firm with unparalleled coverage in Canada, says Neeson, who adds that existing clients stand to benefit from the company’s commitment to the latest technology.

"Among these advances is an intuitive transcript portal user-friendly document-sharing platform including MyVeritext, VT Canada’s user-friendly client portal, which provides easy scheduling, seamless access to schedules, transcripts and exhibits, as well as the industry’s most robust search utility," she says.

“We’re excited for the opportunity this represents for clients across the country,” Neeson says.
