The sixth annual Billiards with the Bar fundraiser will be held Nov. 14 from 6- 10 p.m. at the Rivoli, 334 Queen St. W., 2nd Floor, Toronto, says Toronto criminal lawyer Joseph Neuberger.
Feeding people in need is the goal of the Toronto Lawyers Feed the Hungry program, which is funded by the Law Society Foundation. The program was launched in 1998 by providing meals for those in need once a week. Today, it serves meals four times a week.
Each month, the program provides more than 3,500 meals through the Osgoode Hall cafeteria. The annual cost to run the program, which provides approximately 45,000 meals a year, is almost $350,000 and all proceeds from Billiards with the Bar go directly to the Lawyers Feed the Hungry program.
Those wishing to support program can make a donation, purchase tickets, or sponsor a table, says Neuberger, a partner with Neuberger & Partners LLP.
“This program has captured my heart for over 15 years and it helps the most vulnerable in our lovely city. Please purchase a ticket or sponsor a table and come out and have fun for a great cause,” he says.
Tickets are $60 per person or tables can be sponsored for $500. Table sponsorship includes two tickets, signage and acknowledgment at the event and recognition on the Law Society Foundation’s website following the event.
Donations of $500 or more will also be acknowledged at the event and on the Law Society Foundation’s website.
