Huberman to chair Law Society arbitration primer

Toronto mediator and arbitrator Marvin J. Huberman will chair an upcoming primer on arbitration for litigators, presented by the Law Society of Upper Canada, he tells

The April 5 event will help attendees gain a solid understanding of procedure and substantive law in the area of arbitration, in order to make the pre-hearing and the hearing more efficient and cost-effective, and optimize the chances that a client's dispute will be heard in a fair way, with durable results.

From 9 a.m. – noon, presenters will review strategic considerations like pre- and post-dispute arbitration agreements, the weighing of evidence by the arbitrator, as well as post-hearing costs, interest, and enforcement.

In addition to chairing the event, Huberman will moderate a panel from 9:35 – 10:20 a.m. entitled ‘Selecting Arbitration and Choosing the Arbitrator- Is Arbitration the Most Appropriate Fit for this Dispute and these Disputants?’

The program is accredited for 2 hours and 30 minutes of Substantive and 30 minutes of Professionalism CPD content.

A Primer on Arbitration: For Litigators will take place at the Donald Lamont Learning Centre, located at 130 Queen St. W., in Toronto.
