Duquette and Green are now partners at audit, tax and consulting giant RSM, expanding the firm’s security, privacy and risk practice.
RSM Canada is a member firm of RSM International, a global network of independent audit, tax and consulting firms who count more than 40,000 employees across 116 countries.
“From a client perspective, things aren’t going to change that much, because we want to give them the same experience they’ve been getting with Hexigent,” Duquette tells AdvocateDaily.com. “We’re still the same people doing the same work, except that we’re now part of a much larger brand with access to more resources and expertise that will allow us to act more quickly and effectively.”
According to the news release, the pair’s specialty in cybersecurity and digital forensics appealed to RSM.
“Cybersecurity is increasingly becoming a critical priority for Canadian businesses of all sizes and across all industries,” said Harry Blum, national managing partner, RSM Canada. “With Ryan and Jason’s arrival, RSM Canada is able to enhance our offerings and provide cutting-edge strategy and tactical solutions to businesses looking to either respond to or protect themselves from cyber-related risks.”
Before launching Hexigent in 2011, Duquette gained significant experience in digital forensics via a career in law enforcement, where he specialized in criminal and civil investigations, frequently appearing as an expert witness in Ontario courts. He is also a published author and regular speaker at international conferences, as well as a lecturer and instructor for various post-secondary and policing institutions.
Green’s background includes more than 30 years in security and privacy experience, accumulated not only as a principal at Hexigent but also in various roles for a number of professional services firms. He has worked in technology advisory consulting, cyber resilience and incident response, as well as roles in corporate and fraud investigation for Canadian and U.K.-based companies. In addition, Green is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist.
