Grace to discuss sexual assault, #MeToo at OBA-RODA conference
The Ontario Bar Association and the Roundtable of Diversity Association’s Annual Diversity Conference returns later this month to provide thought-provoking, practical discussions on current issues for diverse lawyers and allies.
Toronto civil sexual abuse lawyer Elizabeth Grace, a partner with Lerners LLP, will take part in a panel discussion during the day-long conference, which will cover an array of topics addressing the often complex issues that diverse lawyers face in their legal career. Rochon Genova LLP lawyer Susan Vella will chair the panel.
Grace, Jennifer Mathers McHenry and Danielle Robitaille will lead a substantive track session on sexual assault and misconduct. The panellists will consider the impact of the #MeToo movement on their respective areas of law and practice, review advances and challenges in the criminal, civil and employment contexts, and address topics like consent, employer/organizational responsibility, human rights breaches, and damages.
The conference takes place on Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Twenty Toronto Street Conferences and Events at 20 Toronto St.
