Certified examiner offers free digital forensics webinar for lawyers
Hatch, founder, and CEO of DFI Forensics Inc., says the one-hour session will provide an introduction to the field, including best practices for handling evidence. All litigation lawyers are welcome, he says, adding the webinar will be particularly beneficial for employment, family, estate and commercial litigators.
DFI Forensics is a Canadian digital forensics and incident response firm serving clients throughout North America with offices in Vancouver, Langley, B.C., Calgary, and Toronto.
Digital forensics is the collection and analysis of data to determine facts and legal issues and produce those findings as admissible evidence for use in a legal proceeding. Common sources of digital evidence include computers, cellphones, tablets, servers, cloud accounts, emails, texts, data from digital files (i.e., metadata), social media and internet browsing history, he says.
“This treasure trove of incredibly powerful evidence ought not to be overlooked by the modern litigation lawyer,” says Hatch, a former lawyer.
