Radnoff joins Toronto office of U.S.-based Dickinson Wright

Toronto commercial litigator and appellate counsel Brian Radnoff says he moved his practice to U.S.-based Dickinson Wright LLP to leverage the firm's cross-border business and help the Toronto office expand its reach in commercial litigation.
"Obviously, it's very hectic transferring your practice after you have been somewhere for more than 15 years and the past few weeks have been a whirlwind,” Radnoff tells AdvocateDaily.com. “That said, I'm very happy. Dickinson Wright is an excellent platform for me. This is a firm where I can do very well and add value.”
As a partner with the Toronto office, he says his general commercial litigation practice will remain the same — a focus on professional liability and discipline, defamation, appellate work, shareholder disputes, securities litigation and class-action matters.
The Detroit-based firm was appealing to Radnoff because the majority of its more than 450 lawyers practise in multiple offices across the United States.
“I have always dealt with cross-border litigation as part of my practice, but there is significant potential to increase that here,” he says. “In addition, I think there is potential for increasing the footprint of the litigation department in Toronto. There are really good people here who do great work.
“I think I can be part of that process and help build this part of this office as well,” Radnoff adds.
Dickinson Wright notes in its announcement that Radnoff served as plaintiff’s counsel in one of the largest corporate espionage cases in Canada and represented a plaintiff in a defamation action that resulted in one of the 10 highest defamation damage awards in Canada.
