Waddell recognized in 2014 Lexpert Cross-border Litigation Lawyers Guide
Toronto class-action lawyer Margaret Waddell has been recognized in the 2014 Lexpert Guide to the Leading Cross-border Litigation Lawyers in Canada.
Waddell, partner of Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP, is the leader of the firm’s class action practice group.
Lexpert describes her as having “particular experience and expertise” in this specialized field, where she acts for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Waddell has appeared as counsel in a number of precedent-establishing and well-known class actions, including Markson v. MBNA, Cannon v. Funds for Canada, and Smith v. National Money Mart and on behalf of an intervenor in Green v. CIBC. She acts for both plaintiffs and defendants.
She is regularly requested to appear as a lecturer at both substantive and practical skills continuing legal education programs. She is also a trustee of the Toronto Lawyers’ Association, an executive member of the Ontario Bar Association Class Action Subgroup, a member of the Law Commission of Ontario’s Advisory Committee on Class Action Reform, and is a former director of The Advocates’ Society, where she chaired its Subcommittee on Advocacy and Practice.
