Rosen to discuss legal issues affecting elderly clients
Toronto health lawyer Lonny Rosen will discuss key legal issues when dealing with the elderly, including determining capacity, at the 2nd Elderly Client course later this month.
As part of the two-day event run by Federated Press on Jan. 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Rosen, partner with Rosen Sunshine LLP, will review case scenarios and cover the legislative framework, including the Substitute Decisions Act and Health Care Consent Act, capacity to manage property and the impact of a finding of incapacity to manage property. He will also discuss principles of consent to treatment, capacity to make treatment/admission decisions, reviews of findings of incapacity, and withdrawal of treatment at the end of life.
The course will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto, located at 475 Yonge St.
