Physician privileges, accident benefits among topics at event

Toronto health lawyer Lonny Rosen recently acted as chairperson for the first program of the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto’s 2013-2014 programming year, leading a discussion on a variety of hot health law topics.

Rosen, partner at Rosen Sunshine LLP, led the discussion between a group of experts presenting on issues including the minor injury guideline and accident benefits, end-of-life cases, causation in medical malpractice cases, physician privileges in public hospitals, and the law of informed consent.

The event, which took place earlier this fall, was titled A Potpourri of Medico-Legal Cases.

The Medico-Legal Society of Toronto was founded in 1950 by a group of doctors and lawyers to promote medical, legal and scientific knowledge, co-operation and understanding between the professions, its website states. Information on future Medico-Legal Society events can be found here.
