Advocates for War Child hosts Access to Justice event

Advocates for War Child is hosting its annual Access to Justice event in support of War Child Canada.

Access to Justice 2014 features a performance by the acclaimed band Hey Rosetta! and a short speech from War Child founder Dr. Samantha Nutt.

The event will be held on Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Virgin Mod Club, 722 College St., Toronto.

Access to Justice 2014 tickets can be purchased for $150 each with VIP tickets selling for $300 each (a portion of ticket is eligible for a tax receipt). All tickets include open bar with beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres.

War Child’s mission is to work with war-affected communities to help children reclaim their childhood through access to education, opportunity and justice, says its website. The organization takes an active role in raising public awareness around the impact of war on communities and the shared responsibility to act, it says.

All gifts are helping War Child to deliver programs around the world. A tax receipt will be issued for all donations of $10 or more.

Toronto health lawyer Lonny Rosen is a member of the committee and the boutique health law firm Rosen Sunshine LLP is one of several event sponsors.
