Terminating an indefinite spousal support order

This case involves an appeal of a motion to change, whereby the judge ordered the termination of a prior indefinite spousal support order. As per the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Divisional Court), this case involved the following issue: Did the motions judge err in changing the prior indefinite spousal support order to a definite, three year, step-down order? The parties were married on May 9, 1986, and separated on July 22, 2004 – theirs was an 18-year marriage. In 2015, the husband brought a motion to change and sought a termination of spousal support.
