A city employee has been charged with four counts of murder after a series of shootings in Penticton, B.C. Sixty-eight-year-old John Brittain is charged in the deaths of two men and two women. RCMP Supt. Ted De Jager said those killed were in their 60s and 70s, but police are not releasing any further information about the victims. (The Canadian Press)

Hundreds of dog lovers marched through Montreal Saturday to protest breed-specific legislation. Event organizer Dana Hyde says laws aimed at stopping dog bites should target irresponsible owners, not the dogs themselves.

A Sheriff in western Michigan says an inmate tried to escape from a courthouse on Monday, took a gun from an officer, and killed two bailiffs and two other people. Police shot and killed the inmate.
Some inmates at a North Texas lockup broke out of a cell to help save a jailer after they saw the armed guard lose consciousness. Surveillance video from a courts building in Weatherford showed part of the June 23 incident.

U.S. President Barack Obama says he is "horrified" at the Dallas attack on law enforcement, and those responsible would be held "fully accountable."

Alison Azer says her four kids who were abducted last year are in Iran with their dad, and says Justin Trudeau has not "shown leadership" to get them home. The prime minister says the government is "deeply engaged" in the case.
