Toronto Lawyers Association 2019 CPD lineup

Relax and enjoy your end of year festivities confident in the fact you’ve got a jump on your 2019 CPD hours with the TLA’s prime lineup of Nutshell seminars beginning in January. Starting the year with cannabis, proceeding to pensions, and then to criminal law, the programs in just the first two months of the year cover a variety of topics our members have been wanting to explore. Later in the year, we feature an evening on setting up your own practice, appellate advocacy, will drafting. Keep an eye out for our social events, a couple of hours in the evening, where you can meet, mingle, get acquainted or reaquainted with your Toronto colleagues.

Our CPD Nutshells are all organized, taught and moderated by lawyers from your community, addressing issues of interest to you. Our seminars take place between 5 and 7pm, so you’re not interrupting your day. The mood is casual and convivial, with lots of time for questions and comments. We also make sure you don’t get too hungry by supplying a light dinner.

TLA members interested in saving some money might want to take advantage of two promotions we have available. Every calendar year, the TLA offers CPD Unlimited: $449 allows you to attend as many TLA Nutshells as you wish. You can get a year’s worth of CPD for the cost of 5 Nutshells. Details for the 2019 CPD Unlimited will be posted very soon.

Want to “Netflix ‘n Chill”, and earn CPD credits at the same time? TLA has you covered. The majority of TLA CPD nutshells are videotaped throughout the year and published via our partnership with TLA members enjoy a 40% discount off the list price of any of our programs. Choose from a variety of practice areas. A complete list of 2018 web replays is available on our website.

And there you have it: TLA’s holiday wish for your future … easier CPD all round. Watch for your TLA Update, emailed every Tuesday, to stay right up to date on all the TLA provides and for easy links to registration. Did you hear that? I think I heard a bell ring.

In the meantime we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season, restful and reinvigorating, leaving you ready for the challenges of the New Year.
