'Ask the Lawyer' days coming to Orangeville, Guelph

Brampton lawyer-linguist Suzanne Deliscar will present a number of ‘Ask the Lawyer’ days this month in Guelph and Orangeville, where she will discuss issues in family law and provide legal and tax information to families with special needs children.

On May 5 from 7 – 9 p.m., Deliscar will join a panel discussion on ‘Managing Your Emotions During the Court Process,’ focusing on how emotions affect parties going through the family law process. Topics will include the role of counsellors in family law proceedings, the effects of emotions in the family law process, and techniques for managing emotions in the midst of a family law dispute. The workshop, run by the Dufferin Parent Support Network, will take place at Princess Margaret Public School, located at 51 Wellington St. in Orangeville.

On May 19 from 7 – 9 p.m., Deliscar will present an ‘Ask the Lawyer Day’ program, where she will discuss family law in Ontario, including the family law process, how to resolve disputes, the steps in the court process and how to find help. Although this is a stand-alone workshop, attending the May 5 event is strongly recommended. This event will also take place at Princess Margaret Public School, located at 51 Wellington St. in Orangeville.

And, on May 14 from 2:30-3:30 p.m., Deliscar will discuss “Children with Special Needs, Taxes and the Law,” providing parents and caregivers with much needed legal and tax information that can benefit their special needs child. The event will take place at the main branch of the Guelph Public Library, located at 100 Norfolk St. in Guelph.

Registration is required for this program.
