Grace included in Best Lawyers list
Toronto lawyer Elizabeth Grace has been included in the latest edition of Best Lawyers in Canada for her expertise in personal injury litigation.
Early in her career, Grace, a partner with Lerners LLP, set out to apply her experience as an advocate to becoming a driving force behind the development of a new body of law in Ontario that would provide civil redress to victims of sexual assault and abuse.
Grace was determined to ensure the law made space for victims who are doubly disadvantaged, having been a victim of sexual abuse or assault and also suffering from additional disadvantages, such as being a member of a visible minority or suffering from mental health issues.
In 2014, she was given the Women's Law Association of Ontario President’s Award for her service within the profession and her leadership role in advancing the position of women in law in Ontario.
This year, the inaugural Elizabeth Grace Emerging Leaders Award was handed out in Grace’s honour.
Inclusion in Best Lawyers is based on peer-review, and the guide’s methodology is designed to capture the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical area and legal practice area, according to the publication’s website.
