Melanie Booth, principal of Melanie D. Booth Professional Law Corporation, focuses on insurance, occupational health and safety, and personal injury law.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of British Columbia in 2002, Ms. Booth earned her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria in 2006. She was called to the bar of British Columbia in 2008.

Ms. Booth extended her legal studies through co-op rotations at the Canada Border Services Agency as Crown counsel in immigration matters, as a federal Crown in drug prosecutions, and at WorkSafeBC in occupational health and safety regulation and prevention. In addition, she was in-house litigation counsel for The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and has consulted sole practitioners on personal injury matters.

With a background in mediations, trials and administrative tribunals, Ms. Booth focuses on insurance defence, personal injury, motor vehicle accident claims, occupational health and safety, workers’ compensation, and employment law.

Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Booth was elected by the City of Surrey's Council to the Parks, Recreation and Sport Tourism Committee in 2015. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers and the Canadian Bar Association.
