Davies presenting at symposium on legacy of Justice Rosenberg

Toronto criminal lawyer Breese Davies will speak at an upcoming symposium to honour the work and continue the legacy of the late Honourable Justice Marc Rosenberg.

A joint effort of the National Judicial Institute and Osgoode Hall Law School, the ‘Symposium in Honour of the Honourable Justice Marc Rosenberg’ is set to take place on Sept. 23 and 24 at the Hilton Toronto, located at 145 Richmond St. W.

The symposium will examine Rosenberg's legacy as a lawyer, jurist and educator. Papers from the event will be published by Carswell. 

Davies, principal with Breese Davies Law, will join fellow speakers and moderators to discuss topics, including:

  • The law of evidence
  • Criminal law, social justice and preventing wrongful convictions
  • Constitutional rights
  • Legal education, the role of the judge and the administration of justice

The event will begin at 5 p.m. on Sept. 23 with an evening reception and keynote by the Honourable Justice David H. Doherty of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and will continue on Sept. 24 with an all-day symposium, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The program, open to judges, academics, lawyers and law students, qualifies for three hours of Professionalism and three hours of Substantive CPD content.
