(July 30, 2017 – Toronto) – Hum Law Firm is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Lai King Hum as Discrimination and Harassment Counsel to the Discrimination and Harassment Counsel Program of The Law Society of Upper Canada.

“As an employment and human rights lawyer, and someone who has been involved in equity and justice issues, I am always cognizant of the scourge of discrimination and harassment on the dignity of individuals” says Lai King Hum’ Principal of the Hum Law Firm

“Lawyers and paralegals, in their professional work with clients, members of the public and colleagues, and often as employers, have a special duty under the Rules of Professional Conduct as well as Ontario's Human Rights Code, to ensure that human rights are respected.

"The Discrimination and Harassment Counsel Program  plays a pivotal role in providing confidential information and advice to lawyers and paralegals, as well as clients, or any member of the public, who have experienced discrimination or harassment, including instances of bias, from members of the legal profession."

Hum went on to say, "It is an honour to be trusted in this role.”
